Birth Control Exams and Prescriptions:
At WSTC, we provide confidential birth control exams and prescriptions. The simple process for receiving birth control includes:
- Make an appointment for the FREE, 1 hour Birth Control Class (male partners are encouraged to attend!) more info...
- Make an appointment for an initial exam with a Dr. or Nurse Practitioner (and then every following year)
- At the exam, the care provider will describe the routine. A pelvic exam (this lasts 2-3 minutes!) is highly recommended for anyone who has had sexual intercourse. This is when the care provider checks for possible sexually transmitted infections, etc. Then, they discuss what birth control option she may be interested in and the care provider will determine if it would be a safe option. She receives the prescription at that time. The prescription may be filled at the front desk.
- Prescription refills can be done anytime WSTC is open. The client walks in and tells the front desk they’re here for a refill. (NOTE: we can only give refills to the actual client, not a parent or friend—some can be mailed).
Birth Control Classes:
To receive a birth control method from WSTC, it is required that the client attend a 1 hour, FREE Birth Control Class. At this time each method is explained and demonstrated, the pelvic exam is explained, and questions are answered. Guys are encouraged to attend! Call to make an appointment.
